Question:
Wot do you think about McCririck being put out to pasture by Channel 4?

I seldom agree with anything the hairy oaf says. Most of his ideas are ill thought out and ridiculous but at least he has an opinion. The same can be said for Matt Chapman. Mr perma-tan may come across as an arrogant egocentric know-all but he ain't afraid to express an opinion either.
Both of these men seem to be the object of much hate by people in the racing industry and by many armchair watchers but what's the alternative?
Somebody like Nick Luck? (someone should tell him that Eton have started back after the summer!) or Tom Whasisname who seems to be becoming more of a regular on C4 racing. Lydia 'jolly hockeysticks' Hislop? or Rishi 'currently walking across the Channel' Persad? Do me a favour!

We need to mount a campaign to get Big Mac back on Channel 4. Who's gonna join me?!

Oh go on then Sir Alan I'll join you, we all need a bit of a laugh from time to time and you can bank on John McCririck to lighten the mood.

I do feel sorry for his poor old wife 'The Booby' though having to drive him everywhere, run around for his brandy and cigars and be handy with a brolly if it rains.

He is one of the characters of the racing world and the others you mentioned are as dull as ditchwater.

Take a look at this link when Dom Joly caught him out with this so called interview at York:-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT9eMVbEKYA&feature=related

and when he was thrown off the Alan Titchmarsh show for what he said to Ingrid Tarrant:-

He's not afraid to speak his mind and you have to admire him for it, I bet Alan Titchwatsit wished he'd been brave enough to ask it, I think he's gone back to bedding his seedlings and winter pansies!!

Good luck with the campaign, count me in..Jac xx

I don't know how I feel about him really - half the time I think he's an institution and racing needs the likes of him to liven things up, and then I just find him irritating. He's still around on ATR (last time I watched?). I've been up pretty close on occasions (at Newmarket people, nothing else!!!!) and didn't notice that he smelt, although I have to say he does give that impression! On balance, he's probably reached his sell-by, but I think he will be missed - if only because he was good with Tanya.

I AM UP FOR IT !! You know my feelings. He is a character of racing and by god we need something to liven it up. Perhaps we could persuade them to ditch Persad as there are enough tanned people owning racehorses without shoving them in our faces as presenters!

He was useless at picking winners anyway,my mother-in-law had more winners than him, His dress sense was atrocious and what about all that bling, yes definitely your typical ENGLISH eccentric but, very funny to watch he will be missed.
