Initially, Secretariat was syndicated for $6 million dollars, a record in 1973. 32 shares were sold at $190,000 each, with the Chenery family retaining four shares.
Secretariat stood his entire career at Claiborne farm. He was bred to 58 - 60 mares per year and commanded $125,000 per mare for a stud fee.

I know for a fact that before he was pensioned off a few years back, Storm Cat's stud fee was $350K a mare. ( That's a quarter million dollars, for those of you who are mathematically challenged.) AP Indy's current fee is somewhere in the 200K range. These are just about the most expensive ones I've seen.

Last fee I saw for him before his death was $40,000 (think it was live foal)
